Music has been an integral part of the rich history of First Christian Church going back to its very beginnings. Today, this dedication to music is a continued source of pride, not only for our congregation, but for the city and community of Kokomo as well. The Bible and tradition, from Old Testament times until today, encourage the use of a variety of instruments to make music for God's glory. From keyboards to organ, chimes to handbells, guitars to drums, this music ministry strives to provide opportunities for individuals to use their skills to enhance worship and minister to our congregation and community.

Our Chancel Choir is made up of volunteer singers who love to share their faith through music. The choir performs a wide selection of sacred music and often offers special musical presentations as part of our morning worship. The difficulty of music varies. People with moderate and advanced skills are encouraged to share solos for worship. Adult Choir takes the months of July and August off, and special worship music is provided by solos, ensembles and instrumentalists.

Our Worship & Praise Team is made up of volunteer singers and paid instrumentalists. Our praise  team often helps lead worship services. It is generally comprised of vocalists, guitar, bass, drums, and non-traditional instruments.

Various opportunities exist for individuals with moderate or advanced skills in guitar, keyboard and percussion who desire to serve the Lord by leading in worship. This group occasionally plays for services on Sunday morning.

First Christian Church also houses the Howard Dyer Memorial Organ, which is considered to be one of the largest and finest church pipe organs in north-central Indiana.

Situated in the inspiring steeple of the building, our Schulmerich Memorial Carillon provides members and visitors many opportunities to hear this magnificent instrument throughout the year.

First Christian owns three octaves of Malmark Handbells, two octaves of Choir Chimes and several child bells. Currently, ensembles are formed and rehearse for special occasions.
